Dr. med Franka Färber
Dr. Franka Färber is a specialist in internal medicine, chirotherapy and naturopathy.
Since 2017, she has been working in private practice as an internist at the Theresie Orthopaedic Centre together with Dr. Christian Schneider and Dr. Christian Obersteiner.
Over the years, a close network has developed from the excellent and often friendly collaboration with colleagues from a wide range of specialist areas. Being able to use this in the best interests of our patients is something wonderful. This gave her the idea for “The Munich Docs”.
Some facts about the career of Dr. Färber:
- Studies and doctorate at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University, Munich.
- Worked for many years at renowned Munich clinics - specializing in the fields of cardiology, nephrology and rheumatology/osteology.
- Interdisciplinary interests also in orthopaedics (spinal surgery) and cardiac surgery.
- Stays abroad, including in Switzerland (Davos) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro).
- Many years as a lecturer in the medical training of physiotherapists.
- Additional qualifications include chirotherapy/manual medicine, naturopathy and diving medicine.
- Her private sporting interests include sailing, kiting, diving, tennis and mountain biking.
- In addition to a thorough examination, she attaches particular importance to taking the time for a medical consultation and planning the therapy together with the patient.
Dr. med. Christian Schneider
Dr. Christian Schneider is a specialist in orthopaedics with additional qualifications in sports medicine and naturopathy. His work includes targeted diagnostics and patient-specific, conservative treatment of the entire musculoskeletal system in order to address acute injuries and chronic complaints holistically and to identify and treat functional and stress deficits in a targeted manner.
As a senior physician in a spine department for many years, he has successfully helped countless patients from Germany and abroad and, thanks to this special expertise, has been regularly visited by people near and far, young and old, as well as professional and recreational athletes, at his orthopaedic center on the Theresienwiese since 2017.
The Chairman of the German Association Doctors also works as a leading association doctor for the German Bobsleigh and Luge Association, is on the board of the GOTS and is active at the Olympics.

Dr. med. Christian Obersteiner
Dr. Christian Obersteiner is a specialist in orthopaedics with additional qualifications in chirotherapy, sports medicine, acupuncture and skeletal X-ray diagnostics. Through his many years of working in renowned (university) clinics, he has gained over 15 years of experience in conservative and surgical treatment in his own orthopaedic practice.
As a “Certified Knee Surgeon” of the German Knee Society / DKG as well as “AGA Instructor” and “Knee Expert” of the Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery / AGA with the additional designation “Special Orthopaedic Surgery”, this distinguishes him as a knee and shoulder specialist with a high level of expertise. He is also an instructor in arthroscopic surgical techniques and has been an association doctor for the Bavarian American Football Association since 2003, team doctor for the FFB Razorbacks/Munich Rangers/Feldkirchen Lions and coached the German national American football team at the 2010 World Cup. Most recently, he is also an author in renowned specialist journals (Arthroscopy / Sports Orthopaedics and Traumatology) and pursues several sporting interests: 12 years of American football, kite surfing, mountain biking, skiing/snowboarding, bouldering, running (including marathons).

Dr. med. Ralf Doyscher
Dr. Ralf Doyscher is the team doctor for Borussia VFL 1900 Mönchengladbach. The specialist in orthopaedics and trauma surgery specialized early on in the non-surgical field of orthopaedics and sports medicine and has many years of experience in the care of professional teams, sports associations and top athletes. He holds additional qualifications in sports medicine and physical therapy & balneology. Dr. Doyscher combines science with practical experience, conventional medicine with sensible alternative healing methods and the latest developments in the field with proven therapy methods.
Dr. Doyscher sees his main focus in the recognition and treatment of sports injuries, particularly in the area of muscle, tendon and ligament injuries. Dr. Doyscher is a nationally and internationally recognized expert in ultrasound and MRI diagnostics of muscle and tendon injuries, as well as infiltration techniques in sports. Athletes from all over the world regularly seek his advice and help.
Dr. Doyscher is also an internationally sought-after speaker and regularly gives lectures at scientific congresses and advanced training courses.
Dr. med. Bianca Wöhrl
Dr. Bianca Wöhrl is a specialist in neurology. She has been working in the neurological practice of Dr. Jan Mackert in Munich since 2018. During her many years at the LMU University Hospital in Munich, Dr. Wöhrl gained in-depth specialist knowledge of a wide range of neurological diseases. Here she was also able to learn special therapeutic procedures, such as the treatment of neurological diseases with botulinum toxin (e.g. chronic migraine, dystonia, spasticity). In her work at the practice, Dr. Wöhrl places particular emphasis on detailed neurological diagnostics, empathetic treatment of patients and participatory decision-making with regard to therapy.

Dr. med. Jan Schwab
Dr. Jan Schwab studied human medicine at the Albert-Ludwig-University Freiburg im Breisgau and the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. He also completed his studies in health economics at the European Business School (EBS), Schloss Reinhardshausen, Eltville and an MBA at the Technical University of Munich (scholarship). He obtained his license to practice medicine and completed his specialist training at the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. He then continued his specialist training at the Ear, Nose and Throat Clinic at the University of Ulm. He then set up his own practice and established the Munich South Medical Care Center. He also works in the ORL practice in the Ärztehaus Fluntern, Zurich.
Dr. med. univ. Johannes Vogelgesang
Dr. Johannes Vogelgesang is a specialist in dermatology, venereology and allergology. He has an additional qualification in outpatient surgery and specializes in laser medicine and aesthetic dermatology. His hobbies include painting, playing golf and yoga. His credo is that the focus of his joint practice is always on the individual. In addition, great importance is attached to taking time for every consultation and carrying out every examination carefully. The aim is to ensure that every patient not only receives the best medical care, but also feels personally comfortable and understood.

Dr. med. dent. Dietmar Hellebrand
I am passionate about dentistry because I love helping people and improving their quality of life and health. The precision and craftsmanship that this profession requires fascinates me and gives me new challenges every day, even after more than 25 years of experience. It fulfills me when I gain the trust of my patients and they leave my practice with a radiant smile. The combination of medicine, technology and empathy makes the profession incomparably fulfilling for me.

Dr. phil. Thore Haag - Sports Scientist
Dr. Thore-B. Haag is our expert in exercise science, diagnostics and therapy. In 2024, he founded the platform “training-based Healths” to support chronically ill patients. As CEO of Benefit Service Deutschland GmbH, he spent several years working on the profitable application of shock waves. He can also draw on many years of research activity as Head of Sports Science at the Sports Orthopaedic Institute and practical work as Head of Therapy at the Theresie Orthopaedic Center. He wrote his dissertation in training science on back pain in elite sport. As a long-time coach and athlete in competitive volleyball as well as a member of specialist committees and networks, he actively shapes the interface between medicine and training.
Dr. Haag is also involved in the Expert Alliance for Health and as a partner in Munich eSports e.V. and has been a founding member of the ESBD's Scientific Advisory Board for Medicine and Training Science since 2022. His focus: health through evidence-based training and innovative medical products.

Sofie Oberender - Psychological Psychotherapist
Sofie Oberender is a psychological psychotherapist for behavioral therapy. Since 2020, she has been working independently in her own practice and treating adults in individual and group settings. Her specialties include the treatment of depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders. She also works in the health department of the city of Munich in the area of children's and youth health.
She completed her psychology studies at Paris-Lodron University in Salzburg and received her training in psychological psychotherapy in Munich at the Kirinus Training Institute. As part of her training, she worked at the University Hospital rechts der Isar in the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
She also offers psychological psychotherapy or counseling online in English and German.
Leon Kühn - Sports Scientist and Medical Student
Leon's passion for sport has shaped him from a young age and he has lived it out in his own sporting career. He played tennis, soccer and handball from an early age. The latter is still one of his great passions today, which he now only continues as a referee and coach after his ambitious performance-oriented career due to injury. His history of injuries led him to develop a keen interest in rehabilitation and over time he acquired in-depth knowledge, particularly in the field of lower limb rehabilitation. Due to his fascination for sport and health, he took the sports additive in the upper school in order to include this subject area as part of his Abitur 2018 at the Max Born Gymnasium in Germering. He then decided to study sports science at the Technical University of Munich, which he completed in 2024. He will continue his career with studying medicine in Innsbruck beginning October 2024.
Philipp Greif - Sports Scientist
Philipp Greif's three-year bachelor's degree in sports science at the Technical University of Munich awakened a clear interest in human anatomy, physiology and pathology. To deepen his knowledge in these areas, he began studying osteopathy at the OSD in Munich in 2021.
Away from his studies and his work as a sports scientist at the Theresie Orthopaedic Center, Philipp can usually be found in his native Tyrol - in winter as a ski instructor and all year round, weather permitting, windsurfing on the water.
As an athlete, former ski racer and long-time competitive athlete, Philipp enriches The Munich Docs team above all with his balanced mix of theoretical and practical experience. Above all, Philipp sees a certain holistic understanding of one's own body and the necessity of sporting activity as the key to being able to perform well.
Christian Lamper - Sports Scientist
Christian Lamper completed his Bachelor and Master of Science in Sports Science at the Technical University of Munich. His studies focused on neuromuscular diagnostics, sports physiology and training science.
Parallel to his studies, he gained professional experience in these areas as a sports therapist at the Theresie Orthopaedic Center and as an athletic training coach. As an athlete, he has successfully competed in powerlifting competitions as well as half marathons and therefore trains as a hybrid athlete himself.
He supports the team of “The Munich Docs” with his theoretical knowledge and practical experience as a sports scientist in training planning. He specializes in preventative and performance-oriented strength and endurance training. In addition to training planning, he also covers the area of weight regulation. Here he supports the targeted reduction of body fat and the development of muscles.
